[Update 24 Oct: USA Today has an interesting article out that indicates recent FEMA funding has been on smaller storms than were previously covered: ~50% of disasters in the last 4 years had damage under $10 million.Washington's  emergency management chief Jim Mullen, and National Emergency Management Association President was widely quoted in the story.]

However such a tsunami is not likely to cause massive damage to Vashon from what I’ve heard – largely due to the moderating influence of the Straits of Juan de Fuca.
